Considering it’s Labor Day weekend, it was only fitting UFC featherweight champions Conor McGregor (pictured) and Jose Aldo put in work to promote their upcoming title unification bout at UFC 194.
The beef has been building between the bitter rivals since they embarked on a worldwide tour to push July’s shootout. Unfortunately for all involved, Aldo suffered a broken/bruised rib and was forced to withdraw from UFC 189. McGregor went on to blast Chad Mendes to capture the vacant interim strap that night.
The beef came to a head, literally, during Friday’s “Go Big” press conference in Las Vegas when Aldo and McGregor engaged in a heated face-off.
McGregor was doing what he does, chirping and challenging nearly every superstar on the podium. Aldo was doing what he does whenever he hears McGregor’s voice, get agitated.
They were shouting at each other as they neared for the photo op, then the head push. It looked as though Aldo tilted his head first and leaned in, which McGregor too exception to and countered with a more aggressive forehead shove right back.
They had to be separated by UFC president Dana White and security.
December 12 just can’t come soon enough…
