Thursday couldn’t have gone any better for UFC strawweight Paige VanZant (pictured). Shortly after announcing on Twitter that she inked a contract extension to remain with the UFC, it was confirmed she will headline her first show for the promotion.

VanZant will break in her new contract against Joanne Calderwood at UFC Fight Night 80.

The December 10 card takes place inside The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. UFC Fight Pass will stream the entire event.

Financial terms of VanZant’s new deal were not disclosed, but the UFC typically extends their fighters by at least four fights.

VanZant will be riding a four-fight winning streak into the scrap. “12 Gauge” is looking to build off this month’s submission victory over Alex Chambers at UFC 191.

Calderwood, meanwhile, rebounded from the first defeat in her professional career by beating Cortney Casey in July.

Also, it was confirmed a lightweight shootout between Michael Chiesa and Jim Miller will co-headline the festivities.
