Roy Nelson didn’t just leave Japan with his third straight defeat, but the UFC heavyweight also returned to the States with a broken right hand.
Nelson posted the above x-ray on his official Facebook page of his fractured hand Wednesday after returning from the doctor’s office.
“Back from the doctor, hand is broke. Will heal up with the love & support of the Country Club Fans,” Nelson stated.
Prior to Saturday’s outing, Nelson, 39, said he would like to compete a whopping six times each year. This injury could certainly effect those plans.
Nelson did not mention how long the broken haymaker will keep him on the sidelines.
Nelson dropped a unanimous decision to Josh Barnett in a back-and-forth five round battle at UFC Fight Night 75. “Big Country” has now lost five of his past six scraps.
Some believe Nelson’s job may be in jeopardy, given his current skid and contentious relationship with UFC president Dana White, despite his popularity in the UFC.
