If you think Jon “Bones” Jones (pictured) has been sitting on his couch all depressed and getting fat while inhaling gallons of ice cream after having his UFC light heavyweight title taken away, think again.
Jones had fallen off the face of the earth since April’s felony hit-and-run arrest, which forced the UFC to temporarily suspend their most decorated 205-pound champ and strip him of his belt, but Jones reemerged victorious in an Albuquerque courtroom Tuesday when the judge agreed to only give Jones 18 months probation for his latest legal mishap.
The controversial 28-year-hold made a return to social media late Thursday night, and the UFC light heavyweight division will certainly take notice.
Jones has obviously used his latest setback as motivation in the weight room. He appears buffer than ever in the video clip released on his verified Facebook page.
The video is captioned, “Adversity introduces a man to himself.”
Jones was given his “Bones” nickname because of his skinny legs. While his lower extremities are likely still long and lanky, his upper body looks like it’s ready to take out the UFC’s top heavyweights.
Is it coincidence that Jones ended his social media hiatus just two days before UFC light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier defends Jones’ title against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192, or was Jones intentionally sending his former foes a message that he’s fully prepared to reclaim his throne ASAP?
It is believed Jones will get an immediate title shot upon his return. The UFC said their legal team is currently reviewing the terms of Jones’ plea deal and will address his reinstatement shortly.
