Ryan Bader (pictured) felt disrespected by the entire MMA world entering Saturday’s pivotal scrap against former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.
How could someone riding a four-fight winning streak be an underdog against an opponent who has been out of action for two years trying to fix his surgically-repaired knee?
Well, the best way to get respect is to take it. And that’s exactly what Bader did, he took respect as well as a convincing unanimous decision win over Evans.
Now with five consecutive victories under his belt, Bader would like to get a title tilt in his next outing. With former champ Jon Jones’ temporary suspension likely lifted shortly, that likely won’t happen.
Bader said at the post-fight presser that he would like a rematch with Glover Teixeira if he won’t challenge for the belt next. That’s more doable.
UFC 192 took place Saturday inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
