Bellator featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and Bellator lightweight champ Will Brooks (pictured) will be defending their respective titles Friday at Bellator 145, but that didn’t stop the archenemies from mixing it up Wednesday in a St. Louis hotel lobby.

Brooks took to Twitter to share their brawl with the MMA world.

“Pitbull brothers showed me what cowards they are,” Brooks wrote. “They jumped me while I was on the phone with my mom. Fucking cowards jump me while I’m on the phone with my mom… Sucker punched me like the trash that they are. Pussies had to sucker punch me with all their people around while I’m by myself. Punch me while I’m being held back by your people.

“Cowards. I’ve never had to sucker punch or jump anyone I held things on my own but these cowards aren’t built like real men. I’m still pretty and still focused on my fight even though these cowards jumped me. We have video.”

Brooks has yet to release said video footage. He did, however, post a picture of a bloodied grey t-shirt, but has since deleted the pic.

Freire turned the tables on Brooks and claims he and his brother were the ones who were attacked by Brooks.

“Will Brooks is a liar,” Freire responded on Twitter. “He hit Patricky first and came at me, I went after him too and my first punch landed. We were separated. Then he came again, I knocked him down. He tried to take me down, we were separated again and he started calling us cowards.”

The two then had a brief exchange after the incident.

“Hey @illwillbrooks86 guess who’s headlining the next tent pole event and who’s in the undercard,” Freire wrote.

‘@PatricioPitbull and I’m not talking MMA shit. I’m going to keep it 100 with you I will slap you in your fucking mouth when I see you next,” countered.

Bellator PR representative Danny Brenner told Jermey Botter of Bleacher Report, “We are looking into the situation and gathering surveillance footage at this time. We have no further comment at this time.”

Brooks defends his belt against Marcin Held in Friday’s co-main event, while Freire puts his strap up for grabs against Daniel Straus in the show’s featured attraction.

Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri hosts Bellator 145.
