Michael McDonald (pictured) will finally end his two-year hiatus due to various hand injuries to meet Masanori Kanehara at UFC 195.

UFC officials announced the scrap late Monday night via Fox Sports.

McDonald is looking to get his promising career back on track not only from injuries, but also suffering a submission defeat to Urijah Faber in his last outing in December 2013. The 24-year-old has won nine of his past 11 fights.

Kanehara is a 32-year-old veteran who has split his first two bouts in the UFC. He most recently dropped a split decision to Rani Yahya in July.

The January 2 event takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A welterweight title tilt between champion Robbie Lawler and former interim champ Carlos Condit headlines the pay-per-view broadcast.

Here is the show’s updated lineup:

Edgar Garcia vs. Sheldon Westcott

Erik Koch vs. Drew Dober

Michael McDonald vs. Masanori Kanehara

Lorenz Larkin vs. Albert Tumenov

Dustin Poirier vs. Joseph Duffy

Andrei Arlovski vs. Stipe Miocic

Carlos Condit vs. Robbie Lawler (UFC welterweight champion)
