Chris Weidman will be thinking about his WTF spinning wheel kick for the rest of his life. That was the beginning of the end for the now-former UFC middleweight champion.
Weidman appeared to be winning the third round, but for some reason he attempted the fancy kick and Luke Rockhold (pictured) saw it coming from a mile away. He got a body lock on Weidman and planted him on his back.
Rockhold unleashed a flurry that many believed was more than good enough to bring a fight to an end, but referee Herb Dean let it go until the end of the round. Weidman was barely able to make it back to his corner, but answered the bell for the fourth round.
It didn’t last long, though. Weidman was out on his feet and Rockhold picked up right here he left off in the third.
UFC 194 took place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
