Sage Northcutt Highest Paid At UFC Fight Night 80

The Nevada Athletic Commission has released the disclosed salaries for all the contestants who competed in last Thursday’s “UFC Fight Night 80: VanZant vs. Namajunas” event.

Despite appearing in just his second UFC fight, up-and-coming lightweight Sage Northcutt (pictured) was the show’s highest earner. The 19-year-old made $80,000, with half coming via win bonus, for beating Cody Pfister.

Michael Chiesa was the card’s second-highest paid with $60,000, $30K via win bonus. Rose Namajuans, who upset UFC golden girl Paige VanZant in the night’s featured contest, scored $54,000.

VanZant, meanwhile, made $40,000.

Please keep in mind, the numbers that get reported to the athletic commissions are only of what’s required. These figures do not include deductions for items such as licenses and taxes.

Additionally, they do not contain sponsorship money paid by Reebok or any bonuses from the UFC. These royalties can Fight Night bonuses, top secret discretionary bonuses, etc., which can oftentimes represent a substantial portion of a fighter’s total income.

UFC Fight Night 80 took place inside Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Total disclosed payroll: $702,000.
