With the highly-anticipated superfight between Ronda Rousey and Cris “Cyborg” Justino off the table for the time being – perhaps, permanently – it might be time MMA turns its attention towards a fantasy fight between Cyborg and the woman who evaporated Rousey’s aura of invincibility with one highlight reel head kick to steal the UFC bantamweight title.

The primary roadblock that prevented Rousey and Justino from colliding in the past was that Rousey and the UFC insisted that Justino, Invicta FC’s featherweight champion, shed 10 pounds in order to move to bantamweight. Holm, on the other hand, seems more open to moving up in weight to accommodate Justino.

“I know with the UFC, they don’t have [the featherweight] division,” Holm said during UFC 194 weekend. “So, if that was something that they were going to put together, I’m not against it. I’m open to it, but right now we only have 135 [pounds], 115 [pounds], so if was going to be for the belt or anything like that it would have to be at 135 but I’m not against options for other fights.

“I don’t know how high I would go. I have fought at heavier weights in boxing. It kind of changes things with MMA, because there’s wrestling. Boxing, I think, is a little different, you’re not dealing with somebody’s strength and weight on you as far as wrestling and grappling. But I do feel like I’m a bigger 135er. I don’t know. I guess I would just have to see whatever would unfold if that was an option.”

Justino has long been campaigning for a 140-pound catchweight contest with Rousey, but the UFC was not willing to budge so the buff Brazilian started working on getting down to 135 pounds in order to meet their demands. However, since Rousey’s shocking upset loss, Justino has decided to stay at 145 pounds.

Whatever Justino decides to do, Holm supports. It’s not a fight she’s actively seeking, but wouldn’t shy away from if it was an option.

“I love Cyborg. She’s awesome,” Holm stated. “I finally got to get to know her this year. Whatever Cyborg wants to do, I support it. You want to stay at a heavier weight, you don’t want to go to 140? Whatever she wants to do, I’m all about it. I haven’t really thought about it too much.”

As far as Holm’s immediate future, she will grant Rousey an instant rematch, most likely at UFC 200 in July.
