A bantamweight battle between former top contender Joseph Benavidez (pictured) and Zach Makovsky has been added to UFC 196.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported the tango, which was subsequently confirmed by UFC officials.
The February 6 event takes place at a yet-to-be announced venue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Benavidez will be riding a four-fight winning streak into the shootout. The 31-year-old most recently posted a unanimous decision over Ali Bagautinov in October.
Makovsky is looking to bounce back from May’s decision defeat to John Dodson. The former Bellator champion has won three of four fights since joining the UFC in late 2013.
