There will be some former champion on former champion crime going down at UFC on FOX 19 when Rashad Evans (pictured) battles Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the April 16 event.
Combate first reported the scrap, but UFC officials have yet to confirm the report.
Evans will be looking to bounce back from October’s unanimous decision defeat to Ryan Bader. Due to complications with knee surgery, that bout marked Evans’ first outing since beating Chael Sonnen in October 2013.
Rua, meanwhile, collected a much needed win by besting Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in April. The Brazilian had dropped seven of his last 11 prior to outpointing Little Nog.
A yet-to-be announced venue in Tampa, Florida is expected to host the festivities. FOX will broadcast the main card live.
Here is the card’s current roster:
Rashad Evans vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
