There will be some Cowboy on Cowboy crime going down at UFC Fight Night 82. One day after Tim Means got pulled from the show’s featured attraction against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone for possibly flunking a random drug test, Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira has agreed to step in on February 21.
The UFC announced the swap Thursday via Twitter.
This bout marks Cerrone’s UFC welterweight debut. The 32-year-old was white hot entering last month’s rematch with lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos having rattled off eight straight wins. Unfortunately for Cerrone, he once again shot blanks in a championship affair. Including his time in the WEC, Cerrone is now 0-4 when the hardware is on the line.
Oliveira has won three straight since dropping his UFC debut to Gilbert Burns. The Brazilian most recently knocked out Piotr Hallmann in November.
Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania hosts the show. Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the main card live.
Here is the card’s revised lineup:
Alex Garcia vs. Sean Strickland
Shamil Abdurakhimov vs. Anthony Hamilton
Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Brandon Thatch
Shane Campbell vs. James Krausev
Trevor Smith vs. Leonardo Augusto Guimaraes
Chris Camozzi vs. Joe Riggs
Derek Brunson vs. Roan Carneiro
Sarah Moras vs. Lauren Murphy
Cody Garbrandt vs. John Lineker
Donald Cerrone vs. Alex Oliveira
