Doerksen Fighting at Sengoku 6

MMA journeyman Joe Doerksen posted on his MySpace page that he will be facing Izuru Takeuchi in a Middleweight Grand Prix Reserve Bout at Senkoku 6. The event will be taking place on November 1st at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Sengoku 6 will feature the semi-finals and finals for World Victory Road’s Lightweight and Middleweight Grand Prix tournaments.

Doerksen had lost his last three bouts for the UFC and WEC before he defeated John Meyer in a small event in Canada. Before his unsuccessful ventures with Zuffa’s promotions, Doerksen had posted eight consecutive victories.

Takeuchi has won his last five bouts, with seven of his last eight coming via decision. He will be making his World Victory Road debut, after fighting for Pancrase.
