Gomi Added to Sengoku 6

World Victory Road’s: Sengoku

World Victory Road announced today that they have added top ranked lightweight Takanori Gomi to their Sengoku 6 event, which is scheduled to take place on November 1st at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The two will be squaring off on one of the individual bouts on the card, however the event will feature the semi-finals and finals for World Victory Road’s Lightweight and Middleweight Grand Prix tournaments. The promotion also announced that they have found an opponent for Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal, as he will be taking on Fabio Silva

Gomi is considered by most as the top ranked lightweight in the world, having won 16 of his last 17 bouts. His last bout was a unanimous decision victory over Sung Hwang Pang at Sengoku 4 in August.

Golyaev is a member of the Russian Red Devil Club, where top ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko trains. The former M-1 fighter will be making his return to professional competition after a two year sabbatical.

“King Mo” was victorious in his MMA debut at Sengoku 5, where he defeated MMA veteran Travis Wiuff via 1stRound TKO. Lawal was an amateur wrestler before he took up MMA less than two years ago.
