Oh, it’s already been broughten! Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and current king Daniel Cormier are back at their old social media tricks again.
Instead of their customary heated Twitter exchange, the archenemies kicked their spat up a notch by exchanging memes on Instagram.
Jones started things off a week ago with this gem:
As expected, Cormier was up for the challenge. “We are doing these now! This is gonna be fun! #gameon happy my family has been watching how’d I let this slip thru the cracks lol,” Cormier wrote on his Instagram with the same picture.
And then countered with:
Jones fired back Tuesday by posting an updated version of the official UFC 197 event poster:
Sure, everyone loves them some Carl Winslow, but Tyrone Biggums will always take the meme cake:
Cormier soon tore a page out of Jones’ social media playbook and deleted his last post. However, not before Jones was able to catch a glimpse of it. “Bones” fired off the final bomb (for now) by unleashing the ultimate trump card on a nemesis he’s already dominated:
Cormier and Jones get to rekindle their beef in person this weekend at the “Unstoppable” press conference ahead of UFC 196 in Las Vegas. What are the chances of this happening again between the two at the pre-fight presser?
Dave Sholler, you better be on your A-game this time if you plan on being the third man in the square-off.
Jones looks to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight throne that was stripped from him, which Cormier gladly picked up, following April’s felony hit-and-run arrest at UFC 197 on April 23.
