As expected, the UFC is pulling out all their big guns for their historic UFC 200 event. Lightweight up-and-comer Sage Northcutt (pictured) will meet Enrique Marin in the July 9 event.
The UFC announced the matchup Thursday.
Northcutt will be looking to bounce back from the first loss of his professional career after getting submitted by Bryan Barberena in January. The 20-year-old was perfect through his first seven pro outings.
The UFC has put their powerful marketing machine behind “Super” hoping he’ll lead the charge of their next superstars. We shall see, because Barberna made him look absolutely silly once it hit the mat.
Marin dropped a split decision to Erick Montano in November in his UFC debut. The Spaniard owns a 8-3 record.
The bout will likely appear in the prelims.
T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities.
