Since UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones (both pictured) will no longer be fighting each other at UFC 197, why not fight on Twitter?

Exactly. Why not?

The mortal enemies got into yet another heated exchange Monday after Cormier, who was forced to pull out of their April 23 rematch with a leg injury, offered to help replacement Ovince St. Preux prepare for Jones. Cormier told “The MMA Hour” that he would cover all of St. Preux’s expenses to make the trek to AKA to be tutored by Cormier.

OPS respectfully declined Cormier’s offer, but Jones was still intrigued why Cormier would go out of his way to help St. Preux.

Jones kicked off Monday’s epic Twitter exchange:

How did we entertain ourselves before Twitter came along?

What’s interesting is, Jones utterly dominated Cormier 15 months ago at UFC 182. Jones literally left Cormier in tears, so what trade secrets could Cormier possibly pass along to St. Preux if he wasn’t able to execute them himself?

Jones has been dealing with April’s felony hit-and-run arrest, which resulted in the UFC stripping him of his light heavyweight title, and hasn’t been seen since beating Cormier. It is unknown how long Cormier will be out of action, but it is believed that Jones will meet Cormier immediately after he disposes of OSP.
