UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold (pictured) may have submitted Michael Bisping just four fights ago, but don’t tell that to Bisping because the confident Brit has clearly erased the scrap from his memory bank.
Bisping is entering Saturday’s UFC 199 rematch with complete confidence, as though he’s found the magic formula to dethrone the division’s latest king since their initial encounter. The bitter rivals engaged in an epic shouting match during last week’s conference call, which will hopefully translate into a main event worth paying $59.95 to watch.
Bisping has rattled off three straight wins en route to getting his first UFC title fight in 26 outings. Rockhold is coming off December’s dominant victory over Chris Weidman to capture the crown. Weidman was initially slated to rematch Rockhold in the event, but was forced to pull out just 17 days before showtime due to a neck injury.
Bisping was more than happy to serve as last-minute substitute.
As if that beef wasn’t enough, bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber meet for the third time in the show’s co-main event.
The Forum in Inglewood, California hosts the festivities.
