Two days after announcing former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will return to the octagon at UFC 200, Lesnar reported Monday Mark Hunt (pictured) will mark his comeback opponent.
Lesnar made the announcement on ESPN’s “SportsCenter.”
Hunt will be riding a two-fight winning streak into the tango. “The Super Samoan” was last seen in March knocking out former champ Frank Mir. Hunt posted a TKO victory over Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva before that.
Lesnar, who is still under contract with the WWE but was granted permission to return to the UFC for this “one-off” opportunity, hasn’t had a real fight since December 2011. After getting submitted by Mir in his UFC debut, which was Lesnar’s second professional fight, Lesnar rattled off four dominant wins en route to capturing the heavyweight throne.
Lesnar was trounced by Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 to lose the belt, then TKO’d by Alistair Overeem in a top contender contest. Lesnar returned to the world of fake fighting after that.
