UFC president Dana White recently stated that Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson has a future in the UFC and it appears the YouTube sensation will be facing Matt Mitrione at UFC 113 on May 1st in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
FiveOuncesofPain.com was the first to report on the rumored bout between the two “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” castmates.
Slice cemented a spot in the organization after making Houston Alexander look like a shell of his former self, while Mitrione continued to impress UFC brass by beating Marcus Jones that same evening.
Mitrione was one of the most controversial fighters on last season’s edition of the reality show due to his unwillingness to train through “injuries” for Team Rashad, while Slice proved some doubters wrong as he maintained a positive attitude and improved his MMA game on Team Rampage.
Lyoto Machida is expected to defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the night’s featured bout. The meeting will hopefully put an end to the controversial unanimous decision that Machida stole from Shogun at their UFC 104 meeting back in October.
Here’s how the rumored “UFC 113: Machida vs. Rua II” card looks:
Sam Stout vs. Jeremy Stephens
Patrick Cote vs. Alan Belcher
Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet
Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione
Rashad Evans vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Lyoto Machida (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion)
