UFC Fight Night 91 is in need of a new main event. On Monday, lightweight Michael Chiesa (pictured) announced he will be forced to pull out of his pivotal shootout against Tony Ferguson due to a “fully ruptured disc” in his back.
The good news for Chiesa is that he won’t require surgery. “Maverick” says eight weeks of physical therapy and rehab should do the trick to avoid going under the knife.

The UFC has not addressed Chiesa’s injury. No word if Ferguson will remain in the July 13 event against a different opponent or shelved for another day.
Chiesa, meanwhile, is quietly making his way up the 155-pound mountain having rattled off three consecutive victories. He has disposed of his last two victims via submission.
Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota hosts the event.
