Fourth of July might have been yesterday, but there will be plenty of fireworks going off this weekend in Las Vegas.
The UFC will be hosting three shows, one will be of the blockbuster variety in Saturday’s historic “UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones II” extravaganza.
Four titles will be on the line over a torrid three-day spam, two new Ultimate Fighters will be crowned, and of course, the return of former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar.
Thursday’s “UFC Fight Night 90: Dos Anjos vs. Alvarez” kicks things off on UFC Fight Pass. Lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos defends his crown against former Bellator champ Eddie Alvarez in the main event.
“The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale: Joanna vs. Claudia” takes place the following night on Fox Sports 1. Women’s strawweight title holder Joanna Jedrzejczyk grants bitter rival Claudia Gadelha a rematch in the night’s featured contest.
UFC 200 closes out the weekend on Saturday with a title unification bout between light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormir and interim champ Jon Jones collide in the main contest. Lesnar will open for them when the professional wrestler meets Mark Hunt. In addition, women’s bantamweight champ Miesha Tate puts her strap on the line against Amanda Nunes. Oh, and let’s not forget Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo will also vie for the vacant interim featherweight belt.
Get ready, this should be a fun three-day run.
