Brock Lesnar (pictured) ended his four-and-a-half year MMA hiatus in powerful fashion Saturday against Mark Hunt at UFC 200.
Lesnar was understandably rusty early, but it didn’t take long for him to get back into the swing of things. It was no secret that Lesnar’s strategy was to plant Hunt on his back and smash his face in.
It looked like Lesnar was going to end things in the first round when he was raining down punches on a helpless Hunt, but “The Super Samoan” managed to survive the stanza. Hunt, the warrior that he is, rallied to take the second round with some solid striking, though Lesnar was never in trouble.
The third round was all Lesnar, particularly towards the end. He took Hunt down and smothered him with punches until the final horn.
Lesnar walked away with a unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27) victory.
UFC 200 took place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
