It appears Gegard Mousasi has finally been granted his wish. It has been reported that the middleweight will face Vitor Belfort (pictured) at UFC 204.
Combate first announced the scrap Wednesday. The UFC has yet to confirm the matchup, however.
The October 8 event is expected to take place at a yet-to-be determined venue in Manchester, England.
At just 30 years of age, this will mark Mousasi’s 48th professional fight. “The Dreamcatcher” is victorious in four of his past five outings, including two straight. He had been calling for a tango with Belfort for years to no avail.
Belfort, meanwhile, has dropped two of his past three bouts. The former middleweight top contender was last seen in May getting annihilated by Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Middleweight champion Michael Bisping is expected to make his first title defense in the show’s main event against Dan Henderson. Win, lose or draw, Henderson said this will be the last fight of his illustrious career.
Here is the card’s rumored lineup:
Gegard Mousasi vs. Vitor Belfort
Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping (UFC middleweight champion)
