For the second time in as many scheduled fights, former UFC flyweight top contender Ian McCall (pictured) will have his fight canceled just days before showtime. On Thursday, it was announced Ray Borg will have to withdraw from Saturday’s UFC 203 bout due to an undisclosed illness.
Because to Borg’s last-minute exit, the UFC was unable to secure a substitute to face McCall.
It is unknown if McCall will receive his show money if me makes weight at Friday’s weigh-ins. “Uncle” Creepy” did, however, get paid when Justin Scoggins bowed out of UFC 201 at the 11th hour.
McCall posted a message to his fans on his verified Instagram page shortly after news broke of Borg’s unexpected exit from UFC 203:
McCall and Borg were slated to kick off the Fox Sports 1 portion of the show. The UFC has decided to bump the tango between CB Dollaway and Francimar Barroso up from the UFC Fight Pass stream in its place.
Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio hosts Saturday’s festivities. A heavyweight battle with champ Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem headlines the gig.
