The UFC has just confirmed that Martin Kampmann and Ben Saunders will lock horns at UFC 111 on March 27th.
Kampmann has won three of his last four fights and stakes claim to an impressive 16-3 mark overall. He bounced back nicely from his UFC 103 TKO loss to Paul Daley by submitting Jacob Volkmann in the 1stRound of their UFC 108 contest.
Saunders is no slouch himself as he owns a respectable 8-1-2 record. The American Top Team-trained fighter thrashed the gritty Marcus Davis with a barrage of knee strikes to earn a devastating TKO victory at UFC 106 this past November.
In addition to the welterweight contest, the organization also confirmed a light heavyweight bout between Rodney Wallace and Jared Hamman, which will likely take place on the non-televised portion of the pay-per-view broadcast.
Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will defend his strap against the heavy-handed Dan Hardy in the evening’s main event. It will mark GSP’s first title defense since dominating Thiago Alves in a unanimous decision at UFC 100 last April.
