Over the weekend, the UFC released their first official video promo for their Big Apple debut, and they did not disappoint.
UFC 205 goes down November 12 inside the historic Madison Square Garden in New York.
The clip features the card’s six major players, including lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (pictured) who will be defending his throne against featherweight champ Conor McGregor in the show’s featured contest.
Here’s something interesting the www discovered while watching the video – it seems as though the UFC may have sent a subliminal message to its fans regarding who might get next crack at the lightweight belt, particularly if McGregor becomes the UFC’s first two-way title holder.
At the 1:37 mark in the video, Alvarez and McGregor are shown on MSG’s video screen and the time on the marquee just happens to display “209,” which coincidentally is the area code of Stockton, home of Nate Diaz.
So will the much anticipated trilogy between McGregor and Diaz go down for the lightweight belt if McGregor beats Alvarez on Broadway? Did the UFC know we’d notice a subtle 209 time stamp and is just teasing us? Are we reading too much into this?
