UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (pictured) and featherweight champ Conor McGregor are neck and neck at the betting polls heading into Saturday’s UFC 205 showdown. I guess that’s apropos considering the tight race at America’s election polls on Tuesday.
McGregor is currently a slight -130 odds-on favorite to become the UFC’s first two-way champion by capturing the lightweight crown. Alvarez, meanwhile, is right on his tail as an even-money bet.
It will be interesting to see if the late Irish money pours in on McGregor and forces the lines to move as showtime approaches.
Alvarez shouldn’t feel bad about being an underdog in his title fight. Welterweight champ Tyron Woodley is a +160 dark horse against Stephen Thompson in tonight’s co-main event. Thompson is presently a 2-1 favorite.
NYC’s famed Madison Squarre Garden hosts UFC 205.
