Just when you thought UFC 206 couldn’t get any worse, Friday’s weigh-ins happened. Three fighters missed weight today, most importantly Anthony Pettis (pictured).

Pettis was slated to headline tomorrow’s show inside Air Canada Centre in Toronto against Max Holloway for the vacant interim featherweight title, a scrap the UFC desperately scrambled to put together after light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was forced to pull out of the main attraction against Anthony Johnson at the last minute because of a torn groin.

After Holloway clocked 145 pounds on the dot, the maximum allowed for a featherweight title tilt, Pettis weighed in three pounds over the limit at 148 pounds.

The fight will still go on, however, so make sure to keep your $59.95 pay-per-view dollars handy!

Pettis will fork over 20 percent of his show purse to Holloway. The contest is still a featherweight title fight, but only for Holloway. If Pettis wins, he gets nothing and the manufactured interim featherweight title will disappear.

This marked Pettis’ second featherweight fight after dropping from lightweight. He weighed 146 pounds when he submitted Charles Oliveira in August at UFC on FOX 21 in a non-title affair.

Somewhere, UFC lightweight champion and now-former UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor is likely laughing hysterically. After Cormier withdrew from UFC 206, the UFC stripped McGregor of his featherweight title in order try and salvage the event. His belt was then gifted to then-interim featherweight champ Jose Aldo, and Aldo’s interim belt was put on the line for Pettis and Holloway.

McGregor claims he never relinquished the featherweight belt and that he’s still a two-division UFC champion.

Pettis had company on the over-the-limit scale. Rustam Khabilov was 2.5 pounds too heavy for his lightweight bout with Jason Saggo and Valerie Letourneau was 1.5 pounds too heavy for her strawweight bout with Viviane Pereira.
