For the first time in 13 months, MMA fans will hear Ronda Rousey’s (pictured) name announced throughout an arena’s speakers as she makes the walk down the octagon aisle. For the third time since Rousey was rendered unconscious on the canvas, UFC announcer Bruce Buffer will say, “And new, UFC women’s bantamweight champion…” – according to the Gambling Gods.
Rousey is currently a slight -170 odds-on favorite to reclaim her throne in Friday night’s main event. Current champ Amanda Nunes, meanwhile, checks in closely behind as a +140 underdog.
There are still several hours until the cage door slams shut on the two ladies, so it will be interesting to see where the betting lines close at. Rousey is, however, trending towards being a 2-1 favorite.
T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada serves as host.
