Just like after her highlight reel knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193, Ronda Rousey (pictured) once again has gone dark following last month’s lopsided TKO defeat to bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
Outside of a brief statement released to ESPN.com, which was most likely prepared by her PR team, Rousey has been radio silent since Nunes annihilated her 11 days ago. However, Rousey appears to be handling her latest MMA setback a little better than when Holm pummeled her 14 months ago.
Rousey reemerged on Instagram Monday with an inspiration quote by author J.K. Rowling about picking up the pieces and starting over.
Following her second straight humiliating loss, many believe Rousey will now leave MMA in her rear-view mirror and bolt for Hollywood for good. It’s tough to tell how the 29 year old is applying Rowling’s words to pick up the pieces of her shattered fighting career, but it could go either way – try to climb back up the UFC bantamweight mountain one last time, or merely put MMA behind her and moving forward.
