A lingering back injury has forced bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt out of UFC 213. As a result, the July 8 event has undergone a massive makeover.

TJ Dillashaw, who is currently coaching opposite Garbrandt on “The Ultimate Fighter 25” and was slated to fight his bitter rival at UFC 213, will now shed 10 pounds and challenge flyweight king Demetrious Johnson (pictured) in August.

A specific date and location have not been set.

With Garbrandt out, women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes will now headline UFC 213 against
Valentina Shevchenko.

In an unexpected twist, White decided to create an interim middleweight title bout for the show’s co-main attraction. Top contender Yoel Romero will battle Robert Whittaker for the vacant manufactured belt.

UFC president Dana White announced all of the matchups Tuesday with ESPN.com.

White said he decided to conjure up an interim 185-pound crown after talking with middleweight champ Michael Bisping, who is currently nursing a knee injury. Bisping hasn’t defended his throne since October and there is no timetable for his return.

That same uncertainty goes for Garbrandt, who is going for a second round of stem cell injections in Germany for his back.

UFC 213 takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Here is the card’s current lineup:

Anthony Pettis vs. Jim Miller

Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone

Alistair Overeem vs. Fabrico Werdum

Yoel Romero vs. Robert Whittaker (UFC interim middleweight bout)

Valentina Shevchenko vs. Amanda Nunes (UFC bantamweight champion)
