Junior Dos Santos is making a quick turnaround following last month’s TKO loss to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Perhaps too quick.
On Wednesday, it was announced dos Santos will face Francis NGannou at UFC 215.
The September 9 event takes place inside Rogers Place in Edmonton.
Dos Santos has taken a beating in most of his past seven bouts, four of which resulted in losses. The former heavyweight champ was anxious to jump right back into action after a quick TKO defeat to Miocic, but perhaps he should have waited a bit longer to recover.
It’s as though someone is hellbent on turning his brain into mush.
It doesn’t help that dos Santos is meeting one of the game’s fastest rising prospects. NGannou is perfect through his past eight outings, with the past five coming under the UFC’s watch. He was most recently seen slapping Andrei Arlovski silly in January.
Here is the card’s current roster:
Rick Glenn vs. Gavin Tucker
Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Sarah Moras
Arjan Bhullar vs. Luis Henrique
Ilir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro
Junior Dos Santos vs. Francis Ngannou
Henry Cejudo vs. Wilson Reis
