It has been confirmed that “The Ultimate Fighter 7” contestant/comedian Matt Riddle suffered a not-so-funny knee injury during a training session that will force the 22-year old out of his UFC 91 bout against Ryan Thomas. Riddle currently holds a 1-0 professional record, having defeated middleweight Dante Rivera at the TUF 7 Finale in June. This was to be Riddle’s welterweight debut, however it looks as though it will be put on hold for quite some time, as it is believed that Riddle has suffered at least an ACL injury,  and possibly a meniscus tear.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed the injury with members of Riddle’s management team. Riddle will be having a second MRI shortly to confirm whether there is indeed a meniscus tear. If there is, the youngster would be out of action until late 2009.

The UFC has not made an official announcement regarding Riddle’s status, and it is unknown whether they will try and find a replacement for him.

Here is how UFC 91‘s fight card currently shakes out:

Preliminary Bouts:

Ryan Thomas vs. TBD
Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley
Mark Bocek vs. Alvin Robinson
Jeremy Stephens vs. Rafael dos Anjos
Tamdan McCrory vs. Dustin Hazelett

Main Bouts:
