Now that UFC cash cow Conor McGregor has done his deed for the company, it’s time for the UFC to get back to promoting their other golden children.
Paige VanZant will look to right the ship against Jessica Eye at UFC 216.
VanZant has essentially received the Ronda Rousey treatment from the UFC since signing with the promotion in 2014. However, the bubbly blonde hasn’t been able to provide the consistency to take that hoopla to the next level.
“12 Gauge” has been shooting blanks by dropping two of her past three fights. January’s submission defeat to Michelle Waterson marked her most recent setback.
Eye will most certainly be fighting for her UFC life. “Evil” has been nothing short of awful in her last four outings, losing all via decision. Eye has posted an abysmal 1-5 (1 NC) record since joining the UFC in 2013.
The October 7 event takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
