After receiving news yesterday that Matt Riddle suffered a knee injury that would force the 22-year old out of his UFC 91 bout against Ryan Thomas, the UFC wasted no time in finding his replacement. Fellow “The Ultimate Fighter 7” contestant Matt Brown has agreed to step in on just two weeks notice to take on Thomas on the November 15th event, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brown’s participation on the card was first reported on the The Wrestling Observer.  He currently holds a 1-1 record in the UFC, with his most recent appearance in the Octagon coming in a split decision loss to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 88 in September.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed Riddle’s injury with members of his management team earlier today. He suffered at least an ACL injury, and will be having a second MRI shortly to confirm whether there is a meniscus tear. If there is, the youngster would be out of action until late 2009.

Here is how UFC 91‘s fight card currently shakes out:

Preliminary Bouts:

Ryan Thomas vs. Matt Brown
Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley
Mark Bocek vs. Alvin Robinson
Jeremy Stephens vs. Rafael dos Anjos
Tamdan McCrory vs. Dustin Hazelett

Main Bouts:

Amir Sadollah vs. Nick Catone
Damian Maia vs. Nate Quarry
Joe Stevenson vs. Kenny Florian
Josh Hendricks vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture (UFC Heavyweight Champion)
