The sweat has barley dried off freshly-minted UFC middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre, but that hasn’t stopped the Gambling Gods from looking ahead to his next potential opponents.
Contractually, St-Pierre is obligated to face interim middleweight champ Robert Whittaker in a title unification bout in his next outing. If that’s the case, St-Pierre is an underdog for the first time in forever.
St-Pierre is currently a +135 dark horse against the white hot Whittaker. “The Reaper” checks in as a -165 odds-on favorite.
While that scrap makes the most sense for the division, it isn’t nearly as box office as the other name that’s been floating around. Is a GSP vs. Conor McGregor superfight possible?
It would shatter every UFC record if it were made, but as of right now, it’s merely a fantasy. Regardless, the betting lines have been released for ish and giggles.
St-Pierre is presently a -150 favorite over the UFC lightweight champion. McGregor, meanwhile, comes in closely behind at +120. If the contest was arranged, it would most likely take place at welterweight, where St-Pierre once reigned, or at a catchweight.
Here are the wagering lines for St-Pierre’s next potential fights (courtesy of Bovada.lv):
Georges St-Pierre -150
Conor McGregor +120Georges St-Pierre +135
Robert Whittaker -165
