No, not that one. Kim Couture, wife of UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture, has signed a contract to fight for Strikeforce. She will be making her debut with the San Jose based company on their “Destruction” event on November 21st. It will be a battle of two fighters who have lost their only career bout as Couture will be taking on Lina Kvokov at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
“I plan to show how well-rounded I am in this fight,” Kim Couture confidently stated. “I’m going to be more aggressive and more explosive. There’s not anywhere the fight can go that I won’t be prepared because I feel like I’ve got the toughest camp and the best coaches.”
She was a bloody mess the last time MMA fans saw her competing, as she lost to Kim Rose via unanimous decision at “Night of Combat – Banner Promotions” in June.
However since that defeat, the female Couture has been training hard with fellow female fighter Gina Carano, and of course learning from her legendary husband.
“Losing that fight was the best thing that ever happened to me,” said Couture. “It’s completely changed me as a fighter. I’ve started doing things a lot different. It made me realize that I have to be the aggressor or I’m going to get hurt.”
Couture is slated to be one of the six televised bouts which will be airing LIVE on HDNet. Here are the fighters scheduled to be competing on the “Destruction”card:
Nik Theotikos vs. Luke Rockhold
