Strikeforce has just announced that fans can stream the highly anticipated “Strikeforce: Miami” preliminary bout between Jay Hieron and Joe Riggs live on EASports.com.

“It’s definitely one of those fights that deserved to be aired somewhere, so we’re glad to get the opportunity to do this,” Strikeforce’s director of communications Mike Afromowitz told Sherdog.com on Monday afternoon.

The contest will broadcast live this Saturday on EASports.com’s MMA page at 9:05PM EST/6:05PM PST.

MMA purists made quite the uproar when Strikeforce initially announced the welterweight scrap would take place on the non-televised portion of the Showtime broadcast due to the star-power the main card possessed. Thankfully, us MMA geeks can now rest at ease.

EA Sports will make their MMA video game debut later this year and will feature many Strikeforce athletes.
