After a fairly disappointing night of action, the WEC had to be somewhat satisfied with the ticket sales for their WEC 36 event on Wednesday night. A total of 5,227 fans crowded into the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, accounting for $563,578 in gate revenue. The WEC also announced the Fight Bonuses for the night’s event, with each recipient receiving an additional $7,500 for their special performances.
Fight of the Night:
Donald Cerrone and Rob McCullough ($7,500/each)
Knockout of the Night:
Mike Brown ($7,500)
Submission of the Night:
Rani Yahya ($7,500)
The card was headlined by the WEC’s most popular fighter, Urijah Faber. Anytime his name is attached to an event, it is sure to create a draw, therefore WEC 36’s solid turnout certainly should not come as a surprise.
