Former WEC Middleweight champion Paulo Filho holds victories over the likes of: Kazuo Misaki, Ryo Chonan and Murilo Rua. He even holds a victory over Chael Sonnen, but for some reason it looked like Paulo Filho didn’t feel like fighting on Wednesday night at WEC 36.
“(Chael Sonnen) went there and did his job to neutralize me and that’s what happened,” Filho told Tatame.
Paulo Filho, no doubt is one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the world but in his three fights in the WEC, he’s proven that he has a lot of work to do.
Filho knows that he needs to improve his game and that’s why he’s moving out to Los Angeles. It would make sense for Filho to train with his former training partners in Anderson Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as he did when they were both exclusively training in Brazil as they now train regularly in Los Angeles.
“(In) Brazil we hadn’t (had) a good training camp, and here [in Los Angeles] I believe we’ll have a high level training.” Filho added.
