Two days after the California State Athletic Commission posted the abrupt resignation of executive director Armando Garcia on their website, reports are surfacing that Garcia was given an ultimatum of either resigning or being terminated. Garcia’s formal resignation will be accepted by the Commission on November 18th.
According to Michael Swan from 15rounds.com, Garcia regularly received illegal gifts from various companies, and he also has a sexual harassment charge pending against him from a former CSAC employee.
Lily Galvez and Garcia were involved in a relationship for a short while, however after she broke things off, Garcia continued to pursue her.
“…Galvez, was observed ‘hand feeding’ Armando and adjusting his attire at events, in the office, and in the field,” Swann writes. “She also accompanied him on trips. In itself this is third party harassment because others in the office could question perceived favoritism because they chose not to fulfill his every whim.”
