WEC Signs Two Bantanweights

The WEC has added the services of the talented Danny Martinez and undefeated Joseph Benavidez to their already-deep 135-pound division. The two will be facing off against each other at WEC 37 on December 3rd at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be headlined by bantamweight champion Miguel Torres defending his title against Manny Tapia.

Benavidez’s stock has skyrocketed in the past year. He holds a perfect 9-0 record, with his most recent victory coming over Junya Kudo at Dream .5 in July. Outside of his professional debut, Benavidez, who trains with former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber, has ended all of his fights before the final bell.

Martinez currently holds an impressive 12-2 professional record, and is the reigning Cage Rage bantamweight champion.
