Tickets for Affliction Entertainment’s second-ever MMA event, “Day of Reckoning,” will go on sale tomorrow at 1PM EST. The event will be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, the site of Affliction’s first promotion, “Banned,” which was held this past July. Tickets will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Honda Center Box Office. The promotion is still filling out the January 24th card, however it will be headlined by reigning WAMMA champion Fedor Emelianenko defending his title against Andrei Arlovski.
The event will be produced by Affliction Entertainment along with its partners, the Trump Organization, Golden Boy Promotions and M-1 Global. Ticket prices will range from $50-450.
“Banned” was a star-studded event which was able to capture 14,832 fans, earning the promotion an impressive $2.1 million live gate debut.
Although the official pay-per view numbers were not released for the event, Affliction vice president Tom Atencio stated that “Banned” garnered more than 100,000 PPV buys. That is a solid number for a non-UFC MMA event.
It will be interesting to see how well Affliction’s follow-up event will do considering the economy has worsened significantly since their July show. “Day of Reckoning” was initially slated to take place on October 11th at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, however the promotion was forced to reschedule the event due slow ticket sales.
