Germany to Host UFC 99

Germany’s long awaited arrival of the UFC will officially come to an end on June 13th, 2009.  The largest MMA organization in the world will hold its first-ever event in Germany at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. The 20,000 seat venue is the biggest indoor site in the country, and there is no doubt that it will be filled to capacity.

Zuffa, LLC, the parent company of the UFC, came to terms with Marek Lieberberg, Europe’s leading concert promoter, over the weekend of UFC 91.

The event is too far away to predict the headliners of the event, however Chuck Liddell vs. Randy Couture IV has taken the early lead to be the main event. Although it was reported this past weekend that if the two squared off again, it would be at UFC 95 in February.

Word is that Liddell would be willing to make the jump up to the heavyweight division to face Couture for a fourth time, even though he already holds a 2-1 record against the Hall of Famer. He won their last two meetings in convincing TKO fashion, sending Couture into a short-lived retirement after their last meeting at UFC 57.
