The UFC has made a slight change in plans for their UFC Fight Night 17 event. Instead of holding the card at the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, the organization has decided to hold their first ever UFC promotion at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida.  The UFC will be able to pack 10,000 fans into the venue located on the University of South Florida campus.

Joe Lauzon, who will be taking on Hermes Franca in a lightweight matchup, made the announcement yesterday on the “Underground Forums.”

During the UFC’s 15-year existence, the world’s biggest MMA organization has only held four events in the state of Florida. Three of those shows have taken place in Hollywood, while one has been in Miami.

The WEC, sister company of the UFC, usually holds most of their events in the state of Florida. They have experienced great success there, and there is little doubt that the UFC will do the same.

Here are the fighters Rumored to be competing on the February 7th event:

Rob Emerson vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Joe Lauzon vs. Hermes Franca
Amir Sadollah vs. Nick Catone
Mac Danzig vs. Josh Neer
