UFC 110: Changes Key To Wanderlei Silva’s Win Over Michael Bisping

Much was made of Wanderlei Silva’s drop down to the 185-pound division, however Silva credits recent surgical procedures in helping him earn his unanimous decision victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 110.

Silva said that the biggest benefit of clearing up his nasal passages was the fact he can actually breathe normally now, allowing him to easily go into the later rounds.

“I fixed my nose, and now I’m breathing better, snoring less,” Silva said. “Now I can sleep through the night, and I’m feeling very good.”

Silva’s conditioning appeared much improved compared to the last time fans saw him dropping a unanimous decision to Rich Franklin in a 195-pound catchweight bout at UFC 99.

By the time the 3rdRound came along on Saturday night, Silva was still pushing forward with the same intensity as he did in the 1stRound, which allowed him to drop Bisping in the closing ticks, edging-out a close decision.

Fatigue was something that had plagued Silva in the past, specifically of late, however that issue appears to be behind him now. He certainly showed that he still has the necessary punching power to be a legit threat in the middleweight division.

It’ll be interesting to see who the UFC lines up for “The Axe Murderer” next.
