KJ Noons Returns to MMA Action at Dream.13

Former EliteXC lightweight champion KJ Noons will make his long-awaited MMA return when he faces Andre Dida at Dream.13.

Noons holds a 7-2 mixed martial arts record and was last seen taking a TKO victory over Yves Edwards at “EliteXC: The Return of the King” in June 2008. Since collecting his third straight win, Noons left MMA behind to concentrate on his first love, boxing.

Noons made a name for himself in the MMA world when he took a controversial TKO win over Nick Diaz to capture the 155-pound EliteXC title back in November of 2007. The doctor’s stoppage created a bitter feud between the two camps which ultimately lead to Noons being stripped of his crown due to his unwillingness to defend it.

Dream.13 will take place inside the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan on March 22nd. The event will air live in North America on HDNet, so get your DVR’s ready.

Here are the matchups confirmed by the Japanese organization:

Katsunori Kikuno vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Jimmy Ambriz
Ryo Chonan vs. Andrews Nakahara
K.J. Noons vs. Andre Dida
Joachim Hansen vs. Bibiano Fernandes (Dream Featherweight Champion)
