One of Dream’s top middleweight fighters has been vocal as of late about his interest in wanting to compete for World Victory Road’s “Sengoku,” which happens to be the top competition for his own company’s promotion. Yoshihiro Akiyama can be compared to the Terrell Owens of Japanese MMA, but now another promotion may be in the running for Akiyama’s services.

FEG (Dream’s parent company) Producer Sadaharu Tanikawa had recently said that Akiyama was offered a fight for their New Year’s Eve card titled “Dynamite!!” and that even the prospect of picking his own opponent from ten fighters wasn’t enough to get Akiyama to agree.

Rumors are spreading that Akiyama may not be worth the trouble in FEG’s eyes and that he may head to “Sengoku” or even the UFC.

There’s a wealth of talent in the UFC’s middleweight division that Akiyama could compete with to prove his Top 10 ranking within the division.
